Celebrity battle builds excitement at Illawarra Brick Show
The first Celebrity Brick Battle was a huge hit at the seventh annual Illawarra Brick Show which raised funds for KidsWish at a packed Illawarra Sports Stadium on the weekend.
KidsWish has struck a wonderful partnership with UOW’s Early Start Discovery Space and recently delivered a special experience for families. The tailored event, sponsored by Stone Real Estate Illawarra, allowed KidsWish to hold another great afternoon of joy and laughter for children in the Illawarra living with disability or illness.
The KidsWish Discover Day Event took place on Thursday 12th May, from 5pm to 7pm, at the University of Wollongong’s Early Start Discovery Space. Although the weather conditions impacted on attendance, the 120+ guests who braved the wet weather were rewarded with an amazing evening of inspiration and exploration, as well as a take-home dinner and drink to enjoy (with chicken nuggets and chips a clear favourite).
Encouraging and developing the imagination and curiosity of the incredible young people KisdWish supports, dedicated educators from the Discovery Space team, along with KidsWish volunteers, were there to assist children to discover, have fun and learn in a safe and supportive environment specially tailored to meet their needs.
The special KidsWish Discover Day event helps to inspire and grow the minds of the children KidsWish supports with learning through play and imaginative engagement. Whether children are boarding a vessel headed for Antarctica, role playing the day in the life of a construction worker or maybe even taking on the precarious journey of a piece of food (what goes in must come out), the KidsWish Discover Day is an event that is enjoyed by all and provides practical hands-on learning experiences in a fun, supported, engaging and safe environment.
KidsWish is committed to bringing joy and laughter into the lives of children with disability or illness through special opportunities and experiences. Family-friendly events are held throughout the year, across various locations and attractions in the Illawarra, for children and their families to enjoy.
