Our Purpose

At KidsWish, we aim to bring joy and opportunities to children and families of the Illawarra who are living with disability or illness. For a lot of these families, life is tough – presenting additional challenges beyond the normal day-to-day struggles faced by families.

We want to make a difference in the lives of the children and families we support by providing special experiences and opportunities for them to grow, learn, have fun, and feel a valued member of their community.

For children living with disability or illness, attending local attractions or events, and participating in mainstream programs can be difficult, but that doesn’t mean they should have to miss out. KidsWish events and programs are specially tailored to meet the needs of the children and families we support and provide a platform where families can come together and share their journeys.

KidsWish Events bring joy and laughter and celebrate what the Illawarra has to offer. Our goal is to work with businesses and venues to provide not just one great event each year but assist them to deliver a service that meets the needs of the children and families we support all year round.

KidsWish Programs bring children together and help them to meet their social, emotional and physical goals in a safe and supportive environment. We offer several programs to meet a variety of interests, all with a focus on fun and inclusivity.

KidsWish Community Projects strive to build a community that can be enjoyed by all. Our goal is to work with individuals, businesses and community groups to address issues that may limit community access or participation for children with a disability or illness.

KidsWish became a Registered Charity
KidsWish became a registered charity in 2021, following a special partnership between KidzWish Foundation and The Disability Trust to provide support services to children with disabilities. The partnership with The Disability Trust, who are a long-standing and well-respected disability service provider in the Illawarra, allowed for a high-quality continuity of care and provision of programs and services from childhood through to adulthood.
