KidsWish hosts various specially tailored events throughout the year across the Illawarra. Our events provide a safe and supportive environment for children and their families to enjoy local attractions and venues, bringing joy and creating life-long memories. Our events are open to and free for children of all ages with disability or illness to attend with their families.
The KidsWish Discover Day is a wonderful partnership with the UOW’s Early Start Discovery Space that will help to inspire and grow our children’s minds with learning through play.

A special sensory screening for KidsWish children and their families at Shellharbour Event Cinemas every July school holidays.
Exclusive use of three cinemas for families, where lights are left dimmed and sound is lowered to provide an enjoyable experience at the movies.

Children will love exploring the wonders of science at the annual Science Spectacular event at Science Space, UOW Innovation Campus.
This year’s event will be extra ‘spooktacular’ and themed for Halloween. Kids are welcome to come dressed up in their favourite Halloween costume.
KidsWish families will enjoy exclusive access to the UOW Science Space, with the event welcoming up to 265 guests.

Our biggest and probably best event of the year, the KidsWish Christmas Party will provide children and their families an amazing day full of joy and laughter, with KidsWish on a mission to create a day that will be remembered forever and extra special for Christmas.
The 2025 event was held at Symbio Willdife Park and welcomed up to 3,000 guests!

Accessing Illawarra events will provide opportunities for children living with disability to access venues across the region, with a goal of building skills and confidence for children and families to access their community.

Art and Yoga is a relaxed school holiday session for children who enjoy being creative and moving gently.
Up to 40 children will enjoy art-making and gentle yoga in a supportive environment. The session encourages creativity, calm, and self-expression, with activities designed to suit a range of interests and abilities.
Children will also receive a sausage sandwich for lunch on the day.
Parents/Carers must remain on site for the event.

Music with Mike is a fun, inclusive music session for children who love to make noise, explore sound, and create music together!
Led by a highly experienced musician and facilitator, children will explore rhythm, percussion, and group music-making. Sessions are all about creativity, collaboration, and joy — no experience needed.
Children will also receive a sausage sandwich for lunch on the day.
This event will be limited to 40 children.

Come along to the iconic theatre at Illawarra Performing Arts Centre (IPAC) and enjoy a morning of the arts with Merrigong Theatre Company and members of The Strangeways Ensemble. The event includes theatre and drama workshops and a backstage tour of IMB Theatre.
This free event will be supported by KidsWish staff and disability support workers and will welcome up to 30 children aged 5-17 years old.

Kick off the school holidays with a visit to KidsWish House for a Reptile Encounter with Dragon Training Mobile Zoo.
Kids will have the chance to get up close with lizards, snakes, frogs and other fun creatures.
There will also be sports activities and a BBQ lunch for the kids.
This event will be limited to 40 children.

We’re excited to invite kids to come and explore a variety of wheelchair sports in a fun, supportive environment. Joining us will be athletes from the Roller Hawks, who will share their skills and knowledge, inspiring the kids while making sure everyone has a fantastic time.
The day will also include a BBQ lunch for all participants.
Please note, this event is limited to 30 kids to ensure quality coaching and support.

KidsWish are excited to partner with Windang Surf Club to offer 20 kids the chance to learn all about being a life saver for the day!
The team from Windang Surf Club will use a touch pool to teach kids all about creatures of the sea and what you can find in a rock pool. The kids will also learn about rip currents, all the equipment needed for patrol and how to be safe on the beach.
Children will be treated to a sausage sandwich for lunch on the day.
No water activities will be included in this event.
