Next Step volunteers help KidsWish prepare for Christmas Party

More than 150 volunteers will help KidsWish celebrate the festive season at their annual Christmas Party at Symbio Wildlife Park next Thursday.

Around 3000 people will converge on the famous Helensburgh tourist attraction with children living with disability and their families revelling in the Christmas spirit while experiencing the chance to get up close and personal with the animals.

Some of our volunteers gathered at KidsWish House at Flinders this week to prepare for the big day by packing countless goody bags and toys that will be handed out to the children.

These include lollies, a map of Symbio, a Wahu gift voucher and three tokens to receive an age-appropriate toy, as well as lunch and an Icy Pole.

There is also a Bunnings pack which includes a pencil, jigsaw puzzle, a Wiggles cup and more.

Members of The Disability Trust’s Next Step employment program in Shellharbour and Wollongong donated their time to help fill the goody bags.

They said they were happy to contribute to the Christmas Party and it was great to be able to pitch in to assist the KidsWish mission.

The volunteers were rewarded with lunch delivered by The Plant Room’s catering crew.
