KidsWish Science Spectacular 2024
The KidsWish Science Spectacular returned for its third year, on Thursday 26 September, offering children living with disability or illness and their families exclusive access to the incredible Science Space
With the end of the financial year on the horizon, it is a time when many people and organisations make charitable contributions for a variety of reasons.
KidsWish is a registered charity of The Disability Trust which provides free events and programs for children living with disability or illness, and their families, within the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions of South East NSW.
Why should I donate?
Charitable donations are a wonderful way to support a worthy cause and we welcome all benefactors, big and small, who would like to support us in our mission of building an inclusive community that can be enjoyed by all.
The following information is presented as a guide to anyone who may be interested in making a financial contribution.
Ensure the charity is reputable
When choosing a charity to support financially, it is important to ensure that it is reputable and a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
Click here to go to the ACNC database where you can search by charity or by program.
Check their social impact
It is important also to view evidence of a charity’s social impact. KidsWish has been operating for more than two decades and you can find a full list of our programs and upcoming events on our website.
Financial donations and charitable gifts are the lifeblood of charities like KidsWish, which rely on the generosity of the community members, organisations and the corporate sector to make a difference to the people who need our support.
Ensure the charity has DGR status
To ensure you maximise the financial benefits from your donation, ensure that the charity is a registered deductible gift recipient (DGR).
KidsWish Limited is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient and is an endorsed Public Benevolent Institution. You can check the status of any charity by searching the Australian Business Register.
Other ways to help – Become a program or event sponsor
KidsWish loves to partner with businesses who share our passion to be involved in creating special and meaningful experiences for children living with disability or illness.
Our commitment to providing free programs and events that bring joy and laughter to the children and families we support is dependent on the support of our like-minded partners and sponsors.
Make us your charity of choice
Whether it’s a personal fundraising mission, a challenge among family and friends or a ticketed event, KidsWish would love to support you in whatever way we can, with marketing, fundraising or event support to help make your event or fundraiser a success.
Become a Volunteer
And here at KidsWish, we know that not everyone is in a position where they can financially contribute to a charity.
But if you are able to volunteer your time, we are always on the lookout for helpers who are eager to assist with our programs and events.
If you would like to become a KidsWish volunteer, please fill out this online form or if you are able to make a financial contribution, click here to visit our secure donation portal.
