KidsWish Science Spectacular 2024

The KidsWish Science Spectacular returned for its third year, on Thursday 26 September, offering children living with disability or illness and their families exclusive access to the incredible Science Space at UOW Innovation Campus in North Wollongong  NSW’s only dedicated immersive science experience.

Every child had the opportunity to explore space in Australia’s most digitally advanced Planetarium, which features a 4K laser projection system. The interactive space show allowed children to call out their favourite planets, learn super fun facts, and choose their next space destination as they counted down to BLAST OFF before each journey began.

The excitement continued with the captivating “Bubbleology” science show where curious minds discovered what bubbles are made of, what makes them pop or stretch, and the different chemical compositions bubbles can have. A huge highlight was the spectacular fire bubble!

With over 90 hands-on-exhibits, there was something to engage all ages. The make-your-own-badge station proved to be hugely popular, nearly as much as the Tex-Mex buffet dinner that families enjoyed before heading home.

A heartfelt thank you to the team at Science Space, UOW Pulse for the fantastic food, and the KidsWish volunteers who helped make the event truly special.
