The Illawarra Hawks, Wollongong Roller Hawks and KidsWish are proud to come together for the second annual KidsWish Charity Match event on Sunday 18 August at The Snakepit in Wollongong.
This special ticketed event raises money in support of KidsWish’s mission to fulfill the lives of children living with disability or illness and their families through supportive programs, special events, and community projects.
The action gets underway at 10am with fun basketball activities for kids under the expert guidance of Hawks legend Kevin White and Roller Hawks players, where kids will get the chance to have a spin in a wheelchair to test their skills.
Three wheelchair basketball exhibition matches will feature with the first match seeing the Hawks players take on the Roller Hawks players at their own game. And we can’t wait to see the result! The next two matches will see the teams mix and match players to even out the talent.
KidsWish’s own KidsRock band and KidsGroove dance group will be part of the game-day entertainment, along with the KidsWish Sports Academy and The Disability Trust’s Jammers participants taking to the court to showcase their skills.
This fun-filled day will conclude with a chance to get up close and personal with the players from both teams, with players signing autographs and posing for photos with the fans! (Player signing posters will be distributed on the day).
Food and drink sales will be available on the day with all funds raised supporting KidsWish.
Last year’s inaugural event was a sell-out and we are expecting tickets to sell quickly, so get in quick so you don’t miss out!
VIP tickets are available for the first time this year and include an elevated seat in one of the corporate boxes, a delicious burger and chips from His Boy Elroy plus a drink, a pair of commemorative basketball socks featuring the Hawks, Roller Hawks and KidsWish logos, and priority access for the autograph signing session with the players after the game.
