The Illawarra Hawks, Wollongong Roller Hawks and KidsWish are proud to come together for the annual KidsWish Charity Match event at The Snakepit in Wollongong.
This special ticketed event raises money in support of KidsWish’s mission to fulfil the lives of children living with disability or illness and their families through supportive programs, special events, and community projects.
The action gets underway at 10am with fun basketball activities for kids under the expert guidance of Hawks legend Kevin White and Roller Hawks players, where kids will get the chance to have a spin in a wheelchair to test their skills.
Three wheelchair basketball exhibition matches will feature with the first match seeing the Hawks players take on the Roller Hawks players at their own game. And we can’t wait to see the result! The next two matches will see the teams mix and match players to even out the talent.
KidsWish’s own KidsRock band and KidsGroove dance group will be part of the game-day entertainment, along with the KidsWish Sports Academy and The Disability Trust’s Jammers participants taking to the court to showcase their skills.
This fun-filled day will conclude with a chance to get up close and personal with the players from both teams, with players signing autographs and posing for photos with the fans! Player signing posters will be distributed on the day.
Food and drink sales will be available with all funds raised supporting KidsWish.
To help raise funds for KidsWish, there will be a raffle drawn at the event. Prizes to be confirmed closer to the event.
